MY WRITING PROCESS
Before drafting, I love to do some research. I research everything I need to know and then I start my story bible. My story bible has everything from potential names and possible conflicts to settings and book cover concepts. It holds everything I need to know to write the book.
While drafting, my routine is not set in stone. I write whenever I get the chance, but it's usually around ten p.m. and I will write until about one a.m. However, if I venture to the coffee shop or library I will sit there for an hour or two or until my device dies. If I get a lot accomplished, I go home for the day. If I didn't... I plug in those devices.
Revision is an animal I'm still wrangling. The process is more laidback and it takes me a while to revise, which is fine because I draft fairly quickly (I wrote the first draft of Churchbred in two weeks during Nanowrimo 2023). I think it is extremely important to have your own process and to trust it. Don't just adopt what others are doing for their writing process. Find what works for you, put on your blinders, and stick to it.
MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY
I have loved photography for almost as long as I've loved writing. I've ALWAYS had a compact digital point-and-shoot, but when I got my first iPhone that was all I used for years. I still have photos that I adore that I took on an iPhone 6. When I finally got a professional digital camera, I went on a journey of discovering my photographic style. I also spent ages looking for the perfect camera bag until I designed and created my own, along with a custom camera strap.
I participated in a Pop-Up Art Show hosted by Richland Library in collaboration with the Columbia Museum of Art in 2022 and have since been capturing anything and everything. I am currently laying the groundwork for two photo series.
